GameBoy Color (by Nintendo) 1999 model

Nintendo's GameBoy Color was highly successful. The model shown sold for $69 and the individual game cartridges sold for about $29 each.

Sale of used game cartridges also became popular, since used games could be acquired for considerably less than the brand new ones.

The Game Boy uses a highly reflective Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) color liquid crystal display, and can display up to 56 colors.  It also included an infrared communications device at the top left of the unit.
